Terms and Conditions
These conditions apply to the services offered by the operator of Morning Meteor Haven ("we", "us") to companies and organisations. They are meant to sit beside the written scope and quotation that we agree with each client; where the written scope says something different on a point, the written scope applies.

Who these conditions are for
Our services are offered to businesses and organisations in Japan, such as HR departments and recruiting teams. They are not offered to individual consumers. If you are an individual with a question about how a company handled your application, please contact that company; we act on the instructions of our clients.
How an engagement starts
- You send us an enquiry, and we talk through your process and what you want to change.
- We send you a written scope and quotation. It lists what is included, the length of the engagement in weeks, the price, consumption tax, payment terms, and which systems will hold applicant data.
- The engagement begins when both sides have agreed the scope and the quotation in writing, and not before.
- Anything that is not in the written scope is outside the engagement, unless we agree to add it in writing.
Prices and payment
Prices shown on this website are starting amounts. The price that applies to your engagement, the consumption tax, any extra costs, the invoice date, and the payment method are set out in the written quotation, and are agreed individually in writing. We do not ask for payment before the written scope has been agreed.
What we do, and what we do not do
- · We set up steps that organise applications, draft interview records, and review a hiring process, and we hand over a written operating procedure.
- · We do not make hiring decisions, rank or score candidates, or recommend whom to hire or reject.
- · We do not state or guarantee accuracy, time saved, cost savings, a shorter hiring period, or freedom from bias. AI-assisted drafts can contain errors, and your people check them against the source.
- · We do not provide legal, employment-law, or compliance advice, and we do not certify that your process meets any standard.
Your responsibilities as the client
- · You decide why and how applicant and employee data is used, and you tell the people concerned about it as the Act on the Protection of Personal Information requires.
- · For interview records, you tell the candidate beforehand that a record will be made, for what purpose, and for how long it will be kept, and you respect a candidate's wish not to be recorded.
- · You give us the access and the records we need, preferably past or anonymised ones for the trial, and you tell us if something in them is confidential.
- · You read and correct every AI-assisted draft before relying on it, and you take every hiring decision yourself.
Applicant data
Applicant data stays under the control of the client. We process it only for the engagement and on your instructions, and only in the systems named in the written scope. At the end of the engagement we delete or return the data we hold, as agreed with you, unless the law requires us to keep it. Our general approach to personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and cancellation
Changes to the scope and cancellation by either side are agreed individually in writing, and the written quotation says what happens to work already done and to amounts already paid. We have not set a standard cancellation fee on this website.
If something is not right
If something we deliver does not match the written scope, tell us in writing and we will look at it with you and correct what falls within the scope. Rights that you have under the law, for example for a defect in what was delivered, are not affected by this clause.
Confidentiality
We treat what you tell us about your hiring process, and any records you share, as confidential, and use them only for the engagement. This does not apply to information that is already public or that we are required by law to disclose.
Limits of liability
Because the tools only draft and organise, and your people take the decisions, we are not liable for hiring decisions that you make. Our liability for any other loss arising from an engagement is limited to the amount you have paid for that engagement, to the extent the law allows. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under the law of Japan.
Governing law and disputes
These conditions are governed by the laws of Japan. We will try to settle any disagreement by talking first. If that fails, the Kagoshima District Court has non-exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.
